Demonstrations have been held in BuddhaShanti against various negative actions taken by the government in recent times and some positive actions have been praised. The demonstrators also protested against the CPN (Maoist) government and the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, which was threatening to pass the MCC at any cost. Similarly, MP Sarita Giri, who was advocating on behalf of India on the issues of Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura in Nepal, was termed as an Indian puppet and demanded immediate dismissal of her from the Parliament.

Hundreds of Buddhashanti youths, including Lipulek, Kalapani and Limpiyadhura, protested against the government’s plan to make the quarantine more systematic, show a transparent account of Rs 10 billion spent on quarantine, implement 100 percent PCR and guarantee youth self-employment.

The demonstration turned into a corner rally in front of Baluwatar by circling the market through the lower chowk Wednesday.
Speaking at the corner meeting, Gajuhang Yonghang, a young social worker from Buddhashanti, protested against the MCC. Both the government and the opposition have urged the government not only to indulge in corruption but also to think of something for the country.

Speaking on the occasion, another youth of Buddhashanti, Naresh Lawati, has requested the government to implement 100 percent PCR. Stating that the government should focus on managing the quarantine, he stressed on the need to immediately remove the quarantine of unorganized places like Gaigoth shed.

AlsoThe program was facilitated by a team of Buddhashanti young social workers Binod Rijal and Gokul Poudel.
